Politics:



“The Department of Justice is launching an effort to combat what it says is an ‘increase’ in ‘threats of violence’ against school officials and teachers across the country.”



“Cleanup crews along Southern California's coast deployed skimmers and attempted to corral oil-slicked ocean waters in booms Monday while wildlife experts scrambled to protect birds and fish from an enormous oil spill that threatened to close beaches for months.”



“Officials are closing MacArthur Park in hopes of driving out the homeless and renovating the 35-acre recreation area, but the vicious criminal gang is getting in the way of their outreach to homeless people, according to a report by the Los Angeles Times.”
