“The United States reached another grim milestone on Friday, as the confirmed coronavirus death toll topped 700,000, just over a year and a half into the pandemic, and despite the wide availability of vaccines.”



“Roughly 4,000 employees represented by the United Federation of Teachers were missing from schools as of Monday afternoon, including about 2,000 teachers, the union said.”



“A Louisiana-based hospital system is mandating COVID-19 vaccination for the spouses of employees on the company benefits plan and will add a vaccine fee for workers as long their partner remains unvaccinated.”



“Kaiser Permanente, one of the largest health care systems in the United States, has placed about 2,200 unvaccinated employees on unpaid leave nationwide because of the company’s COVID-19 vaccination policy.”



“‘In almost all situations, transplant recipients and living donors at UCHealth are now required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in addition to meeting other health requirements and receiving additional vaccinations,’ a spokesperson for UCHealth said in a statement to The Hill.”



“Golden State Warriors swingman Andrew Wiggins on Monday explained his decision to get the COVID-19 vaccine, noting that he felt "forced" to do so in order to continue his NBA career.”



“The vaccine mandate, for public and private schools, will be phased-in by grade span — seventh through 12th grades, and then kindergarten through sixth — after the Food and Drug Administration grants full approval to the corresponding age group.”



“The ordinance would require people to be fully vaccinated to enter indoor public spaces, including shopping malls, restaurants and sports arenas.”
